AC COILS APPLICATIONS AND USES
AC coils are the part of air conditioning equipment that contains refrigerant. The coils are responsible for compressing and expanding the gas through various machines within the air conditioner. If your air conditioning unit does not have clean or dry coils, it will negatively impact your energy consumption and efficiency. With a damaged coil system, you also risk developing problems with tanking, tripping breakers, and moisture issues in roof mounted units.

Standard construction includes copper tubes mechanically bonded to aluminum fins with brass headers; however, other materials are available for specialized applications. The standard fin spacing is .020″ (.5 mm). Our standard tube lengths range from 7/8″ (22 mm) to 9-5/8″ (245 mm) depending on the model. Most models have optional tube lengths available. Standard tube sizes range from 5/16″ (7.9 mm) to 9/16″ (14.3 mm). Other tube sizes are available for specialized applications such as low air volumes or high air velocities.
Our AC coil construction features include:
- High-efficiency louvered fins on all models
- Two types of headers: water-distribution or balanced port
- Tubes mechanically bonded or epoxy brazed to fins
- Stainless steel drain pans on some models
